Creating Fintech for Kids | GooglePay- Juniors (Case Study)
Recently, I was inspired by a conversation with a colleague who expressed concerns about their child’s lack of understanding and interest in managing money. Despite various attempts to teach financial concepts, the traditional methods seemed ineffective. This sparked my idea to redesign Google Pay specifically for kids, aiming to create a user-friendly and educational fintech solution that empowers young users to manage their finances effectively.
In this project, we embarked on the journey to develop an intuitive interface for Google Pay that simplifies financial strategies, promotes financial literacy, and fosters a positive relationship with money from an early age.
User Personas
The target audience for this redesign are children aged 12+ years and their parents. These young users are just beginning to understand money and its value, while parents are keen to instill good financial habits early on.
Problem Statement
Children often find traditional financial management tools complicated and unengaging, which can lead to a lack of interest in learning about money management.
Solution
Our redesigned Google Pay for Kids includes key features such as a simplified savings system, pocket money management, parental control, and gamification to encourage good financial habits.
To ensure the solution was effective, we employed a user-centered design approach. This involved extensive research and feedback from both children and parents to understand their needs and preferences. We also focused on accessibility and incorporated a vibrant color scheme to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for young users.
